Over the course of 18 months I worked closely with participants of Artlink Boghall group, a weekly meet up for those within the Bathgate area who identify as having or have been impacted by mental health issues.

Throughout the workshops I gradually formed a creative partnership with Ursula and we designed and made a hammock together, using Gore-Tex fabric which had been donated previously to Artlink. Ursula had been envisioning the project for some time and we learnt together through trial and error and experimentation. The hammock would act as a protective and comforting interactive object with which to be part of the group whilst also separate.

The finished hammock was displayed at the Viva Boghall event 2024 and Ursula shared her creation with many others benefitting from the relaxing and comforting qualities of the cocooning design.
