Over the course of 18 months I worked closely with participants of Artlink Boghall group, a weekly meet up for those within the Bathgate area who identify as having or have been impacted by mental health issues.

Attendees of the group were interested in being involved in learning or sharing a creative skill amongst like-minded individuals, some of which included: woodwork, embroidery, cooking, tufting and sound recording. I was invited to share my knowledge of tufting with the group and by looking at individuals work I encouraged those whose work would translate well to tufting to try out a new hand making process.

Gradually as participants became more confident I supported them in passing on the skills they had learnt, my role switching from teaching tufting to facilitating others to pass on the skills they had developed.
